The NPOESS (National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System) program, the marquee program of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's satellite program, got a shot in the arm with the announcement yesterday that Raytheon had successfully completed the factory acceptance test of the Command, Control and Communications (C3) segment for the satellite system. On the other hand, NPOESS is going under the House Science Committee's microscope to examine cost overruns and construction delays in the system.Technorati Tags: Space
